Start with a routine that keeps the story moving

Stock your dough before opening and use your evenings to follow story leads: those two habits make Lunne's first weeks in Paris easier to navigate. When a Heart Palace blocks your progress, the next step may be a conversation outside it.

You play as Lunne, a witch who opens a bakery and helps people through bread and emotional magic. Your time is split between serving customers, exploring Paris, and developing your baking and magical abilities.

Daily phaseMain activitiesUseful priority
DaytimePrepare dough, serve customers, and help with emotional troublesMaintain production and respond to waiting customers
EveningExplore districts, visit friends, and follow Heart Palace storylinesKeep appointments and investigate your next story lead
NightSpend time in the atelier, improve magic, decorate, and restPractice baking when the atelier becomes available

The opening days introduce these systems gradually. Day 1 teaches your first baguette, Day 2 opens the bakery to regular business, and Day 3 adds cleanliness and emotional assistance. Learn each new responsibility as it appears.

Your first Sunday, Day 8 in the opening walkthrough sequence, gives you time to spend freely. Use that opportunity to explore places or relationships you have been putting off.

Keep the bakery supplied and customers patient

Orio automatically prepares bread during regular service, but you must supply the dough. Prepare both bread dough and viennoiserie dough before the rush so production can continue while you handle customers.

For bread dough, move the roller across the dough using the directional controls. Keeping it inside the dough's boundaries speeds up the task. Complete the button prompts that follow, then return your attention to the shop.

Follow this service routine:

  • Prepare early. Build your dough supply before customers fill the bakery.
  • Watch demand. Prioritize dough for the products customers are requesting.
  • Use quiet periods. Replenish supplies when the shop empties.
  • Check cleanliness. From Day 3 onward, neglecting the cleanliness counter can stop Orio from baking.
  • Recover patience. Talk to customers whose patience is falling, and serve impatient customers first when possible.

Practice complete recipes in the atelier

Atelier baking involves more than the dough preparation used during service. Your early visit introduces a braided bread recipe and a longer sequence of measuring, mixing, kneading, magic, and oven control.

Measure ingredients by watching for the marked area on the scales. Follow the mixing and kneading prompts, use Orio's magic when instructed, and stop the oven at the indicated temperature.

Recipe books purchased while exploring Paris provide leads for expanding your baking. Pay attention to booksellers as you visit new areas. Visiting the atelier for the first time also unlocks Love Is In The Oven, giving achievement hunters an early milestone to collect.

Find Ghaldari and follow early story leads

Finding Ghaldari is an early exploration task after the bakery closes on Day 2. His shop requires a small discovery sequence in Passage Verdeau.

  1. Travel to Passage Verdeau and walk right.
  2. Interact with the stars you encounter.
  3. Follow them to the nearby stand.
  4. Examine the four photographs and select the one showing those stars.
  5. Enter the revealed doorway, speak with Ghaldari, and purchase the bottomless bag.

Later progress involves appointments and visits across Paris. The opening walkthrough follows this sequence:

Day or periodDestination or eventWhat to do
Day 3Bakery and Mrs. TessierDeliver bread and complete the introductory emotional puzzle
Days 4–5Estelle's introductionMeet the visitor and explore her first Heart Palace section
Days 6–8Reply, atelier, and parkReceive Estelle's appointment details, try atelier baking, and unlock the park
Day 9Grand BoulevardsEnter the fancy building and follow Estelle to her office
Day 12Estelle's workplaceSpeak to the person at the counter and invite Estelle to eat
Day 13ParkMeet Daniel on the bench
Day 14BouquinistesBuy books from Hassan and speak with Estelle
Day 15Estelle's apartment in Rues Des BarresMake chocolate fondant together and continue her story

For office visits, go right through Grand Boulevards until you reach the appropriate building. Check your current quest note and phone map when deciding where to travel next.

If you reach Estelle's first heart barrier, leave the Palace and speak with Ghaldari. The following appointment and relationship scenes are part of moving that storyline forward.

Solve early Heart Palace puzzles

Heart Palaces turn emotional struggles into spaces Lunne can explore. Helping someone involves understanding their situation, navigating obstacles, and finding the ingredient connected to their healing bread.

The early emotional tutorial asks you to collect a heart orb and carry it out of a maze. Larger Palace visits introduce moving blocks, water currents, sliding puzzles, and barriers tied to story progress.

ObstacleHow to approach it
Sadness wavesUse the available cover so waves do not push you back
Strong water currentMove a block into the current's path before crossing
Two successive currentsBlock the first, cross, then reposition the same block for the second
Sliding-piece puzzleIdentify the start and destination, then clear space to connect them
Estelle's first heart barrierContinue getting to know her outside the Palace

In Estelle's first Palace visit, cross the bridge and speak with the crying creature. An early block arrangement requires moving the right-hand block between the other two. Continue through the area and interact with the anchor before tackling the next obstacles.

During the later visit associated with Day 12, choose the answer indicating that Estelle dislikes her job. Continue through the next puzzles, including the section where one block must serve two separate currents.

Build friendships and plan achievements

Relationships develop through conversations, gifts, purchases, and shared activities. Some bonds advance alongside the story, but regular visits give you more opportunities to reach their achievement milestones.

Match your activities to the person you want to know better:

CharacterListed relationship milestonesActivities that support the relationship
Monsieur MartinLevels 1 and 2Check in, bring gifts, and visit the cinema
MirembeLevels 1, 2, and 3Give gifts and invite her to dinner or other activities
OrioLevels 2, 3, and 4Follow the story and purchase gifts
EstelleLevels 1, 2, 3, and 4Give gifts, bake at her home, and invite her out
HassanLevels 1 and 2Talk, bring gifts, and buy items from his shop
GhaldariLevels 1 and 2Talk, give gifts, and make magic-shop purchases

Estelle's relationship is closely connected to her appointments and shared scenes. Keep following those invitations while making time for gifts and outings. A romance requirement for her fourth relationship milestone has not been officially confirmed.

Chapter completion achievements unlock as the story advances. The Heart Of Paris requires completing every side quest, so exploring optional conversations matters if you want to finish the achievement list.

The pastry-naming conversation creates a separate completion concern. Choosing Pain au Chocolat unlocks its achievement, while choosing Chocolatine unlocks the other. You can select only one answer per playthrough, so earning both requires reaching that conversation again in a second playthrough.

FAQ: the witch's bakery guide

Why has Orio stopped making bread?

Check your dough supplies and the cleanliness counter. Orio handles automatic production, but you must keep dough available. Starting on Day 3, poor cleanliness can also halt baking. Replenish the needed dough or address cleaning, depending on which requirement has been neglected.

What should I do at Estelle's first heart barrier?

Leave the Palace and talk with Ghaldari. Continue Estelle's replies, appointments, and visits outside her heart. The barrier marks a point where learning more about her is necessary for further progress.

How can I keep customers from losing patience?

Speak with waiting customers to restore patience, then prioritize those closest to becoming impatient. Preparing dough before opening also gives you more time to serve during busy periods.

How do I learn more recipes?

Look for recipe books while exploring Paris, including visits to booksellers. Follow the recipe instructions during atelier baking, where measuring, mixing, kneading, magic, and temperature control become part of preparing a complete bake.

Can I unlock every achievement in one playthrough?

No. The Pain au Chocolat and Chocolatine achievements require different answers in the same conversation. You need a second playthrough at least as far as that choice to obtain the remaining achievement.
